My Uncle Jim’s Guitar…

I’m playing my Uncle Jim’s old 1963 Guild Starfire this weekend.  It’s not something I break out very often but after his passing a few weeks ago it’s time to take it out and do what Jim did with it for years. It’s worn like a good guitar gets when it is played. Jim was a good man and will be missed.

Missing a good friend…

I’ve finally found someone to help me fill the hole above the fireplace and make everything look nice. Working on stuff like this reminds me of the times and makes me miss one of the best friends I’ve ever know.  I miss all the fun talks I had with you Mark and all the work you got done while teaching me a thing or two. Thanks for taking the time with me. It will never be forgotten!

As I was getting ready to sing at a funeral today my grandpa Canon was on my mind. I’m miss him as a grandfather that was always interested in what was happening in my life but I so miss the godly example he lived with passion. Thank you grandpa for taking up your cross daily. Can’t wait to see you someday soon.

1 Corinthians 1:26-31 (NLT)

 26 Remember, dear brothers and sisters, that few of you were wise in the world’s eyes or powerful or wealthy when God called you. 27 Instead, God chose things the world considers foolish in order to shame those who think they are wise. And he chose things that are powerless to shame those who are powerful. 28 God chose things despised by the world, things counted as nothing at all, and used them to bring to nothing what the world considers important. 29 As a result, no one can ever boast in the presence of God.

 30 God has united you with Christ Jesus. For our benefit God made him to be wisdom itself. Christ made us right with God; he made us pure and holy, and he freed us from sin. 31 Therefore, as the Scriptures say, “If you want to boast, boast only about the Lord.”
